Nutrition
Nutrition helps us improve our health, prevent certain diseases, achieve and maintain a desirable weight, and maintain our energy. We are what we eat. A well balanced diet can help fight off the effects of stress, prevent nutrient deficiencies, and enhance how our brain functions. Overnutrition is a term that is used when we provide our body with too much energy. This can lead to diseases such as type 2 diabetes, and heart disease. Undernutrition is a term that is used when our diet lacks energy or specific nutrients. This can lead to several deficiency diseases such as anemia.
No two individuals are the same. Our certified nutritionist (member of the Dietitians of Canada) will identify your concerns and tailor a diet to your specific needs.
This may include:
- Dietary analysis with recommendations
- Setting of goals e.g. weight loss/gain
- Individualized education session
- Individualized counselling
- Extensive computerized dietary, nutrient, and vitamin/mineral analysis
- Personalized meal plans
- Specialized recipes
- Food Logs
- Exercise plan

Personal Counselling
Personal Counselling has two main goals:
- getting a grip on "outside" circumstances, and
- feeling more at home "inside" ourselves.
We work with situations of stress or loss, and feelings of anxiety or depression. Experience-Oriented Therapy explores difficult emotions to gain affective competence. Solution-Oriented Therapy examines problem situations to find effective solutions.
Accessing our coping skills (maybe previously untapped) can help us solve problems and gain more confidence in life. Negotiating our emotions can help us transform their influence and find more satisfaction in life.
